I don’t talk about support systems very much, but it goes without saying that I didn’t build Quipol alone. My partners made it possible, my family made it possible, my friends made it possible, and, of course, Carolyn, my girlfriend of over four years, made it possible.
Carolyn talks me off of more cliffs than anybody in this world, and she puts up with me over and over when I do stupid things like neglect her for my startup.
Anyhow, earlier today, Carolyn was officially offered a full ride to pursue a PhD program at a wonderful school. She’ll be studying evolution, ecology, and behavior—focusing mostly on the behavior and evolution parts. I’m so proud of her, and I can’t wait to see what she accomplishes in her career.
If you’re planning to build a startup, I urge you to find someone as awesome and patient as Carolyn to help you when you’re full of doubt and totally confused, which, in my experience, is pretty much always.
Thanks again, Carolyn. I love you. You deserve it all.
